8 of Cups (jumper), 9 of Cups, and 7 of Cups
Water is life.
Water is life and Native American treaties must be honored.
Water is life and human rights are at stake.
Water is life and the needs of the people should be given a higher priority than oil in this country.
The fight for water is the fight for all of our lives. So I pray and think and cry and shuffle. The 8 of cups jumps out, how fitting. I finish shuffling and draw the 9 of cups, the wish card, and the 7 of cups, the card of illusion. I’m taken aback. This draw shows how much universe listens.
The power of prayer is real. When you are asked to pray for #nodapl and the #waterprotectors it is a real and serious request. Prayer has power. I included Sedna, the Inuit sea goddess and I’m calling in all of the water spirits I can feel and think of to aid the water protectors, to keep them strong, to give them hope, to bring compassion into the hearts of the police and military who threaten them. And I wish.
This is only the beginning friends. And no matter what happens today, do not give up hope. Get louder, be outraged, pray harder, look for solutions in your own community and beyond. This is our reality check. Some of us may have been under the illusion that our government would put people’s rights above corporations or maybe we didn’t think it would go this far to protect big oil. Now the veil is being pulled back and we are witnessing how much of a lie we have been told. Our voices will be silenced, our laws ignored, and our power suppressed by our own government if we threaten the power of big oil.
So the fight for this earth and her resources, the fight for our children and ourselves, the fight for justice, is all coming down to us. You. Me. Them. The people. Our government may be corrupt and bold, but we have power in prayer, justice, and numbers. Do NOT give into the illusion that you are powerless, that WE are powerless in this… That’s exactly what those whose greed pollutes and corrupts our country want us to think.
Gather strength, grieve, pray, wish, and give all that you have today to the water protectors. Shit goes down at noon PCT.
And SHARE SHARE SHARE! Make your voice known! Express yourself on social media, call your representatives, call the army corps, share articles and live streams on your social media. Let it be known that this is unacceptable!
