Slow down. Bring it back to your center. Stop to smell the spring flowers. Notice the details of the budding trees and bushes. Bring it back to the basics. This is the time of rebirth. Resurrection. And we must move slowly, cautiously, with a sense of wonder.
Our anxieties may jump out at us (like the 9 of Plumes did during my shuffle), encouraging our minds to pick up the pace and move in the wrong direction, but we must redirect. Bring it back to slow. To appreciating. To noticing. To learning. To presence.
Remember also, that your life’s purpose may take a lifetime to achieve. We must allow our processes the time that they need to develop. When our internalized oppressor rears its head of fear and anxiety and encourages us to stress out about our productivity, remember that great things take the time they take. You are allowed to return to student mode at any stage in your life. You are allowed to return to the basics even when you are a master. Moving slowly means time to develop a deeper understanding, noticing the things you may have missed otherwise.
Slow, thoughtful steps are what this world is sorely missing. We are so go, go, go. Produce, produce, produce. Consume, consume, consume. And it’s killing our planet.
Bring it back to the basics. Live simply. Move slowly. Appreciate.
Blessed be.
